Process your Sorrow
This Bible study on Psalm 77 teaches us how to process sorrow in healthy ways during worship experiences.
Discussion Guide:
Ice Breaker: Go around your circle and share this week’s highs and lows. What was the best part of your week, and what was the lowest part of your week?
Q1: What stuck out to you from today’s message?
Q2: Over 70% of the Psalms are songs of “lament.” Does that information change the way you think about how we sing and worship in church?
Q3: How has God provided for you in the past? How can that encourage you in the future?
Q4: How can you redirect your thoughts before worship during the next service?
Q5: What are some places in life where you feel a negative attitude, outlook, or perspective has been getting in the way of your worship? How can you bring that to God for renewal?
Application: If you need to lament, lay it out to God just like the psalmists do. Share your uncensored thoughts with Him, ask for help, and pray for a renewal in your perspective as you process what you’re going through.
